Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Wednesday 8/6/2025 Devotional

Ever since the Garden of Eden the darkness over this world has been growing. It dominates the world system. It obscures science and philosophy, making fools of even the wisest of men who reject the fear of God and the light of His Word.

Claiming to be wise, they became fools…
Romans 1:22-23

The hatred of the darkness toward the light of God’s Word is astonishing. Because Israel was chosen to bring God’s Word, and ultimately the Savior, to the world, the darkness focuses its hatred on the Jews. The sheer brutality of pogroms, inquisitions, holocausts, and current events both in Israel and around the world demonstrate the demonic nature of the darkness.

That same demonic hatred is focused on the true Christian church. Government efforts to stamp it out, inquisitions and persecutions engineered by false religions have made the effort to destroy it for 2,000 years and continue today. More Christians, thousands of them, are being imprisoned, tortured and killed for their faith today than ever before, and the world’s news media refuses to even report it.

But the pure light of God’s Word and of the knowledge of Him will not be overcome, because God has said so: the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not, can not, will not overcome it.

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in Ehom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:13-14

Thank You, God, for the light of Your Word. Thank You for revealing Yourself to me. Thank You for transferring me from the domain of darkness into Your Kingdom of light, in Jesus. Lord, now keep me close. Amen.
