Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Friday 5/8/2026 Devotional

He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes, with the princes of His people.
Psalm 113:7-8

When Jesus redeems you, He takes you from where He finds you, just as you are, but He doesn’t leave you there. He has a plan for your life, and He will fulfill it, if you will just trust in Him.

When you trust God you will find yourself doing things His way. The old habits and those old friends who aren’t willing to change will be left behind. You will find yourself in the company of some new friends.

These new friends will be a different sort of people than what you’re used to. They’re redeemed souls just like you, but now they’re leading citizens in God’s Kingdom, the “princes” of His people.

You’ll discover that the princes in God’s Kingdom aren’t the flashy big shots, because the Lord Jesus said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles Lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant…” (Matthew 20:25-26)

You’ll discover how God’s plan fulfills your soul in ways that you didn’t expect, back when you were looking at things the world’s way. There will be some wonderful surprises; embrace them. Learn to see life His way. Trust Him to lead you, and follow Him.

Lord, I’m tired of sitting on the ash heap. Please take over and lead me into this new way of living. Bring me to those new friends in Your Kingdom, who live life Your way. Amen.
