Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Sunday 3/1/2026 Devotional

Woe to him who strives with Him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots!
Does the clay say to him who forms it, “What are you making?” or “Your work has no handles?”
Isaiah 45:9

Do you find yourself wondering if God knew what He was doing when He made you? Do you think maybe He slipped up when He put you together, or that you were a mistake?

We have this ideal concept of how we think God should have made us, so we wonder why He didn’t give us the genetics He gave someone else. We constantly find that other people are smarter, better-looking, more talented, or somehow more the way we wish we were.

God doesn’t make mistakes. When He made you, He had a specific purpose in mind and He formed you for that purpose. If He made you a “pot without handles,” it was because He wanted a pot without handles and only such a vessel would serve the purpose He intended.

Instead of complaining and criticizing His work, wouldn’t it be better to discover the purpose for which He made me the way He did? Maybe, instead of telling Him what He should have done, I should start by asking Him to show me what He has in mind.

Lord, please forgive my criticism of Your work. I know that You made me the way You want me. Thank You for Your perfect work in creating and then redeeming me.
Help me to discover the purpose for which You made me, and to step into Your plan for my life and fulfill it. Amen!
