Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Tuesday 2/24/2026 Devotional

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength.
Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:29-31

There have been so many times over the years when I’ve been about done, just too tired to go on with the work I’ve been given, overwhelmed by temptations and tired of fighting them. But God comes with fresh strength; somehow it all gets done and to my own surprise I’m still here.

When I look back on it I’m amazed at what was accomplished. I have the feeling that I was no more than a spectator, watching Him at work. I feel like an eagle (okay, maybe more like a goonie bird) too tired to flap its wings who suddenly hit an updraft and soared above it all.

Do you face times of temptation that leave you numb with weariness? Do you wonder how you’re going to be able to hang on and stay faithful? Does the burden you carry sometimes seem like more than you can bear?

Keep going, one step at a time, trusting God to keep this promise. You’ll not only get through this; you’ll find that He renews your strength, as you wait on Him. The wind will lift you up and you’ll suddenly be seeing it all from far above, a higher plane.

Lord Jesus, I need You to lift me up today. Amen.
