Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Wednesday 3/25/2026 Devotional

I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify Him with thanksgiving…
When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive. For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise His own people who are prisoners.
Psalm 69:30, 32-33

So many of the Psalms begin with a complaint to God and a prayer for help, and then end with a declaration of faith in His answer to that prayer. This is one of them.

David has poured out his troubles to God and asked for His help. Now he says, “I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify Him with thanksgiving.” He declares by faith that the time will come when he will be praising God for the help he has just been asking for.

It’s important to sing God’s praise when He answers your prayers. Your soul needs to acknowledge and be reminded that it was, in fact, God’s answer; not just a “happy coincidence” that after you prayed things got better.

Your brothers need to hear your songs of gratitude and praise, too. Our hearts need encouragement as we face our own troubles and wonder where to turn. When we hear your testimony of answered prayer it rekindles and revives the hope in our hearts and strengthens our faith.

Lord, You have responded, answered, intervened and saved me time after time when I have prayed to You! Thank You for hearing my prayers. Remind me to recount the details, to strengthen my own faith and revive the hearts of my brothers. Bless my testimony and use it for Your glory, Lord Jesus. Amen.
