Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Tuesday 1/13/2026 Devotional

And He said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent His angel to show His servants what must soon take place. "And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."
Revelation 22:6-7

The Bible wraps it all up with these words in the final chapter. There’s more, but this captures the essence of it: God has given us the information we need to know how to live, how to fulfill His purpose in creating us, and how history will unfold from now until the end. There shouldn’t be any surprises for us, if we read the Book.

We aren’t told how to fix this broken world, but how to live in it. Obviously, the more people live God’s way in any given place and time, the better. But the world is broken and we aren’t going to be able to fix it.

What we can do is turn to Him for forgiveness, get right with Him ourselves, and live in His way, enlightened by His Word and guided by His Spirit.

He promises us something far better in the life to come, and calls us to be faithful in this one.

Lord, I once thought my generation would change the world for the better, but I’ve learned that isn’t going to happen. Help me to live by Your Word in this broken World, with my eyes on eternity, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
