Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Monday 12-22-2025 Devotional

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the Eternal Covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 13:20-21

Two days before Christmas, we’re running around doing all the last-minute things to get ready to celebrate the birth of Christ.

But why did God become a man, live His life, teach, and do countless miracles? Why did He die? Why did He rise from the dead and show himself alive to hundreds of eyewitnesses? Why did He send the Holy Spirit to guide and empower His followers?

The story is surrounded with mystery, since most people have only heard snippets of it, the parts that Hollywood has retold, usually in a mangled and inaccurate retelling.

But when we hear what the Bible says, the mystery clears and it all makes sense. God’s plan and purpose in all of this was to redeem you and me, remove the barrier that separated us from Him and offer you and me a new life.

Now He comes to us when we put our trust in Him. His Holy Spirit equips us for this new life, a life lived His way, pleasing in His sight. He will enlighten you, guide you, and strengthen you for what’s ahead. You can trust Him.

Father, thank You for Your perfect plan of salvation. Thank You for bringing it all about and for bringing it to me. Now take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to You. Amen.
