Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Saturday 5/16/2026 Devotional

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
Lamentations 3:25

Jeremiah had been through the worst imaginable. He had seen it all: the rejection of God and the mocking disdain for His Word, followed by the collapse of society, economy, and government, then the war, the slow starvation and raging epidemics of the siege, the systematic destruction of his city, the burning, the abuse of women and children, and the murders and captivity.

But He knew that God was still in control and that all of this was the natural result of their rejection of God. As painful as it was to watch and to experience, He knew that the only way through it was to trust God and wait.

He knew that God is good even when people are bad. He is good to those who wait for Him, to the individual soul that seeks Him.

It doesn’t matter what society says, what the latest conspiracy theories are, what the economy is doing, or how bad things look. God is still God, His ways are always right, and He is good to those who wait for Him, seek Him, and trust in Him.

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:21-23

Lord Jesus, I know that no matter what comes, You are in control. You are my Lord and You have a plan and a purpose in what is happening around me and to me. I trust You. Help me today to wait, to see Your plan and Your purpose unfold. Amen!
