Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Friday 3/20/2026 Devotional

The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground.”
Exodus 14:15-16

There’s a time to pray, and there’s a time, after praying, to step out boldly in faith. The time for praying was over; now it was time to step out, step forward, move.

Don’t skip the first part. Stepping out without first praying until you get God’s order to proceed is presumption, not faith. Moses could have waved his stick over the sea all day long with no result, but when God said, “Now!” he simply obeyed, and it happened: the big one. We still talk about it today, 3,500 years later. (And yes, they have found Egyptian chariot wheels and armor at the bottom of the sea, still there.)

Where are you in the process today? Do you need to get in some time on your knees? Or have you already done that and gotten your orders? Is it time to step out, trusting in God, and move forward?

Only God can make that clear to you. Pray, listen, trust Him, and when it’s time, step out.

Lord, tune my ear to hear, and my heart to trust and obey. Tell me what, and when. I’m waiting on You. Amen.
