Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Tuesday 10/14/2025 Devotional

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Do you ever find yourself asking, “Why do I have to suffer like this?”

Sometimes in our pain we’re tempted to think that He doesn’t care, or isn’t listening to our prayers. We even start to think that He hates us, or maybe He doesn’t even exist! (That’s the devil talking, whispering those “helpful” suggestions in your ear.)

The real answer is in these verses. God allows suffering in my life, whether it’s physical or emotional, financial or social, for the purpose of enabling me to give His comfort to others who suffer.

He is the Father of Mercies and the God of all Comfort. He knows what it is to suffer. His loving purpose will be accomplished, as I trust Him and faithfully wait.

Trust, and obey. Go through it His way; let Him accomplish His purpose. It will be worth it all.

Lord, I trust You, even when I can’t see the full picture and even when I don’t understand. I’ll wait to see what You’re doing, in Your time.
Thank You for understanding!
Amen.
