Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Tuesday 3/3/2026 Devotional

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom He is pleased!"
Luke 2:13-14

As we enter day four of the current conflict in Iran, the fourth year of war in Ukraine, and the news every day tells us about wars, injustice, terrorism and crime all over the world, some people ask, “What happened to “peace on earth and good will to men?”

Look carefully at the words here. To whom does Jesus bring peace? Is it to to the whole human race? Was that ever something He promised?

The Lord never said that wars would cease or that criminal activity, terrorism, and persecution would be brought to an end until He returns and creates a new heaven and a new earth.

That day will come, but for now, the world continues in turmoil, darkness, injustice and bloodshed. Wars and rumors of war will continue and increase, but we who surrender our lives to Him and receive His forgiveness live under His approval.

He receives me as His own beloved child, is graciously pleased with me, and I have peace: “peace that passes all understanding.”

There is peace to “those with whom He is pleased.” The promise is being fulfilled and has been from the day it was given.

Lord, I pray that You would be pleased with me. Thank You for the forgiveness You offer me for Jesus’ sake. Thank You for receiving me, and for declaring me Yours. Keep me close to You, living in the peace of Your presence, today. Amen.
