Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?"
Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”
John 14:22-23
Do you ever wonder how it’s possible that so many people can see the same things we see and still not see God at work? How is it that we can we know that He’s with us and be comforted by His presence, while so many see and feel nothing but chaos and despair?
How does God show Himself and make His presence known to some and not to others?
The answer is in the words we just read. It comes down, once again, to this: to those who keep His Word, He manifests Himself. He makes His presence known, one way or another, and makes us aware of Him. He comes to dwell with us, making His home in and with us.
The Lord Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me.”
Revelation 3:20
Hear His voice. Open the door. Let Him in. Trust Him, and you’ll find Him; He’ll stay and make His presence known to you.
Lord Jesus, Your promises are true, as always. Make Your home with me and show Yourself to me, day by day, so that I can be aware of You and know You. Amen.
