Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Monday 9/30/2025 Devotional

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 15:5-6

This prayer comes to me often as I find myself talking with Christians from different denominations and doctrinal viewpoints. May God Himself give us the grace to live together in such harmony that we bring glory to Him in the way we speak; glory, not shame, not embarrassment, to our Heavenly Father!

The context here shows that God understands that we aren’t going to always agree with other Christians. Will we bring glory to our Father together with them even when that’s the case?

Harmony isn’t the same as unison. We don’t all sing the same part but as we each sing our part in the genuine love of God - and of His children - the result is an even more beautiful, more full, musical note that we sing together.

Lord, keep my heart right when I talk with my brothers, so that in my own selfish pride I don’t destroy the harmony that sings praise to You. Let those who don’t know You hear the beautiful sound of Christians, united to praise You, for Jesus’ sake. Amen
