Knowing the Savior and Making Him Known

Sunday 5/3/2026 Devotional

Have You not rejected us, O God? You do not go out, O God, with our armies. Oh grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man!
With God we shall do valiantly; it is He who will tread down our foes.
Psalm 108:11-13

King David learned by experience what the Bible says in many places; what God had inspired His prophets to say and write over and over again: victory and greatness come from God!

Righteous exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

If our nation is to be great, strong, secure and powerful it must first be a righteous nation that God can bless. If that is the case, we will have nothing to fear. If we turn our backs on God, God will turn His back on us as well. Moral rot and cultural self-destruction will be followed by defeat and national disaster.

The rule applies to my own life as well as to the life of my country. A country is nothing but the sum of the individuals who form it.

Be a man whom God can bless; nothing else even comes close in importance to this one factor.

Lord, thank You for mercifully, graciously, forgiving my shortcomings. Help me to be a man on whom Your blessing can rest. Nothing else matters in this life, since You have promised, “No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
Amen!
